Caveat emptor or “Reader beware”
Some general tips on HOW you can use the insights shared:
Always do what (you believe / know) is right for your business
Every business is different - your product, industry, margin structure, customer segments etc
Insights shared here may NOT be directly or even indirectly applicable to your business
Don’t force fit something just because you read it online
Read, ask, understand & adapt (synthesize what you can apply)
Most statements have nuance - IF you are NOT sure about something; please feel free to DM on Twitter / LinkedIn or comment below.
Maybe some parts of this guide are applicable to your business - you need to figure out which parts apply (which is where understanding & adaption helps)
Don't do everything on Day 1
This is a trap we all fall prey to: See something insanely complex online (e.g. Amazon’s PR FAQ) & then start implementing it as is in our own business.
The biggest challenge is figuring out how to slowly build your way from the “non-existent” to “functional” state
i.e. you just read about complex Jira ticketing systems used at a famous unicorn Tech startup
How do you implement this in your business? Where do you start?
Each guide here will specify some ideas on HOW you can do a progressive roll out
This will help you with “Where do I start?”
Remember: What I (Rahul) have learnt / am learning about building a company at the intersection of Insurance and Tech in India is NOT necessarily generalizable to 100s of other types of businesses which you could be building.
